1. Overview
ViralUFOs (“we,” “us,” or “ViralUFOs”) operates the website at viralufos.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Content you submit. Comments, reactions, and any text or media you post are stored and associated with your account.
- Newsletter data. If you subscribe, we store your email address and subscription preferences.
- Usage and device data. Pages viewed, referring URLs, browser type, device, and approximate location derived from your IP address, collected via analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service and your account;
- Display your comments and engagement, and apply automated moderation;
- Send the newsletter and transactional emails (such as verification codes);
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve content and performance;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of trusted processors who act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data:
- Email delivery. Transactional and newsletter emails are sent through our email provider.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate usage. Analytics data is pseudonymized where feasible.
- Hosting & storage. Application hosting, databases, and media storage are provided by our infrastructure vendors.
- Sighted.com. Links to our affiliated UAP tracker, Sighted, are tagged for attribution. When you follow such a link, Sighted’s own privacy policy governs your activity there.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account at any time; we will remove or anonymize your personal data except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at our contact page. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted transport (TLS), hashed credentials, access controls, and least-privilege practices — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and will notify you and the appropriate authorities of any breach as required by law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes & Contact
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our contact page.
